Free Telephone Calls?

Skype is perhaps one of the cheapest phone VOIP system available to make calls worldwide for low as $0.017 per minute. Calling the USA from other places in the world is just over one cent per minute.

In addition to being cheap, the skype quality is exceptionally good. Sometimes even better than the old landline telephone system we know about.

How does skype work? All you need to do is go to Skype.com and download the skype software and install it on your computer. Then purchase a $10.00 shype out credit to enable phone to phone calls. You will need a headphone or you can do like me, and buy a USB Phone that stores your personal information in it. You can then plug this usb phone into any usb port on any computer anywhere where internet service is available and you ready to make calls to anywhere in the world.

Note skype to skype is FREE. The person you want to talk with must be logged into skype. Then you can call his skype id and you are ready to talk for free.

There are many other add-on features for skype that allows yuou to use your webcam to see who you are talking with. And many, many more.

World Cup Cricket Shockers!!!!

Bangladesh stunned the cricketing world with an exciting win over cricket superpower India on Saturday March 17, 2007. It was an unforgetable moment in cricketing history. The youths from Bangladesh were impressive with some attacking and aggressive cricketing. It was a wonder to behold.

And not to be outdone, veiled Ireland shocked everyone when they knocked Pakistan the number fourth ranked team in the world out of the World Cup Competition here in the Caribbean and Guyana. It was too much for the coach of Pakistan. He succumbed shortly the enxt day. This was really unfortunate and sad. My condolences to the family of Mr. Woolmer and to the team and other members of the Pakistan team.

Email From A Friend - Happiness

The Best Way to Achieve HappinessBy Song Chengxiang
People always think that what they want is money, relationships, and material possessions, but what they truly want is happiness. Wealth, health and relationships are just the rewards of being happy. Happiness is a state of vibration that is in harmony with the universe. As you already know, the same frequency vibrations tend to attract each other, so the vibration of happiness is going to attract more wealth, better relationships and better health, since these things are going to add more happiness to your life, and they are in the same vibration. If you go after money, you may not get it, but if you go after happiness, money will flow to you. The same applies to relationships and health.
I believe the ultimate goal in life is to achieve a state of well being, or we can simply say happiness. Is there an easier way to achieve happiness? The answer is Yes! and I am now going to show you how.
I have learned one phrase from Dr Wayne Dyer, that I will never forget. The phrase is "How may I serve?" Dr Dyer said that before his seminars, he always meditates, and repeats the phrase as a mantra "How may I serve... How may I serve?" He never brings any notes with him, and when he speaks, the words just keep flowing to him. He knows exactly what to say, and what to teach. Dr Wayne Dyer is one of my favourite role models. He has achieved great success in almost every area of his life. I believe the one single most important element in Dr Wayne Dyer's success is this mantra, "How may I serve?"
Ask yourself now "How may I serve?" This is the key to ultimate happiness and fulfillment in life.
I would like to share some of my own experience. The most enjoyable thing in my life at this stage is writing articles that can make a difference to the quality of people's lives. Whenever I finish writing an article, I feel positive energy throughout my body. I sometime get puzzled myself! Where does this information come from? How do I write so many articles, having thousands of people read my articles every week? I have finally realized the secret is within this phrase, "How may I serve?".
Every time I write an article for my newsletter, I sit in front of my computer, and ask myself, "How may I serve? How may I serve?" Strangely, the ideas come, and I put my fingers on the keyboard, and words just start flowing.
I didn't understand how this process works, until one day I realized that the information does not come from me, it comes from God (or the Higher Intelligence) - the Higher Self, if you like. I am only a channel for the information to flow. I am a channel that God has created to serve the world. Because that is what I am here for, when I am serving, I feel positive energy, and I feel happy.
I have learned that my life purpose is to serve, and I think this is applicable to everyone. This is what God wants me to learn, this is also what God wants you to learn. You will only feel truly fulfilled once you realize this truth, "Your life purpose is to serve." I am sure you have heard that "If you seek happiness for yourself, it will always elude you, if you seek happiness for others, you will find it for yourself." I know this is why every time I finish an article, I feel so happy, because I know that my article is going to benefit thousands of people, and it is going to change the world to some small extent. Maybe 90% of people will not take any action after they read my articles, this is the nature of human beings, but I know as long as they read them, their awareness will be expanded, and they will see a difference in the long run. For that less than 10% of people who do take action, I know my words are going to change their lives for the better. What a great thing I am doing! I am proud of it. I feel very happy about it.
So starting from today, find ways to help other people. Find some way to serve. You will get addicted to it, because it is so enjoyable helping others. Your help is going to change people's lives.
I often receive emails from my subscribers asking me for help. Can you imagine how happy I am after I've answered their questions? I know that this person's life is going to change for the better just because of my words. How wonderful that is!
Here is a secret I want you to know...
The person who benefits the most is not the one you give service to, but yourself. You may find it sounds strange, but this is true, and it is governed by the universal law of cause and effect. Anything you cause others to experience will come back to you, and multiplied. If you cause others to experience love, you will find more love in your life; if you cause others to have wealth, you will have more in your own life; if you cause others to succeed, you are guaranteed to succeed. This is the law of the universe, and it never fails. So, whatever you want to experience in your life, cause others to experience it first. This is the most powerful way to attain your own desires, and the easiest way to achieve happiness.

Cruizing The Caribbean

Recently a staff of mine came back from his honeymoon which he spent on a seven day cruize with his young beautiful wife on Royal Caribbean Adventure Of The Sea. Sailing from San Juan, Puerto Rico they visited Aruba, Curacao, St. Martin, St. Thomas and back to San Juan. This time of the year the Caribbean is hurricane free so the cruize was more or less on calm seas.
The ship is fourteen stories high and is loaded with facilities from shopping malls, casinos, buffets, restaurants, swimming pools, basketball courts, golf course, live shows, cinemas, and much more. There is a great deal of fun things to do. Plus at any hour whether day or night, room service is available.
How much does this seven day cruize cost? On the cheap end $1,200.00. And this covers everything from meals to entertainment. The only thing you have to pay for is your mall shopping or any cheap electronics that is available on board for the customers to purchase. Everything else as I said is free!
Call up an agent and he might be able to give you much more details than I did. Book now.

Solving Savings Secrets

We see millionaires, home owners and lots of wealthy and well to do individual all around us daily as we sojourn here on this earth. How did these folks manage to get where they are and how did they manage to achieve so much? What is their secret? What is the mystery behind wealth and holding on to it?
Well a great deal of the mystery and secrets of wealth has to do with savings. Yet most of us goes through life without that ability to save or without much savings. Can we become disciplined enough to save and yet enjoy our life? How can begin? Below are only one of the many suggestions that can help get you started.
Step 1. Budget your income and expenses.
Without a plan you will will always end up back at square one, that is "nothing saved" and all your earnings spent on some good stuff but on some frivoulous and unnecessary things as well. So to avoid this pitfall, devise a plan called a budget to show all your income and expenditure. It is important that you treat your planned savings (about 10% of your income weather monthly or weekly) as an expenditure. Once you saved this 10% of your income whether weekly or monthly you cannot touch it, because you are treating it as an expenditure as if it does not belong any longer to you. Here is a brief Budget outline
Weekly Budget - 2007
Income:
Wages - 400
Interest from Savings 30
Total Income 430
Expenditues
Savings 43
Rent 130
Goods 60
Heat & Electricity 20
Clothes 30
Telephone 15
Cable TV 20
Misc 25
Total Expenditure 343
Other Savings $87
This is all for now. I have to run.

Stabroek News Attacks Government Again

Once again Stabroek News attempt to smear the government of Guyana has failed, simply because the attempt lacks basic common sense. Two weeks in a stretch its editorial has been rambling on the Buddy’s International Hotel. The latest attempt to smear the government however shows that the news paper is really loosing creditability as a news provider. Below are paragraphs extracted from Monday online Stabroek News editorial. Judge for yourselves.

“First, other interested investors may well look at the MoU and ask themselves on what basis did the government arrive at the conclusion that the Buddy's investor was the fittest person to enter into a contract with for this prestigious project

Second, the MoU indicates some significant promises to Buddy's. On a minimum investment of US$8M the investor has been granted a corporate tax holiday for five years beginning from the first year of commercial operation.

Third - perhaps the most troubling of all - is the two-sentence clause 4.3 which says that the government shall "A(s) far as is permitted by the laws of Guyana, facilitate the company's request to operate a casino on the said hotel premises..”

The first paragraph in quotes by the Stabroek News editorial gives the impression that the hotel is a government project. This could not be further from the truth since this project was a private one.

Second issue about “tax holiday” for “five years” is more than acceptable. What is so wrong with giving an investment of this magnitude such a small concession? Why didn’t Stabroek News draw a comparison between this and OMAI, GT&T and BARAMA?

The third issue about the Casino is the lamest of all. Since when does the whole population have to give consent before the government makes a decision? There are a few, not a majority of folks who might not want casinos operating in Guyana. That is okay. So what is the big deal?

Come on; give the government a break and some credit for allowing development in Guyana by its own people. Maybe another foreigner might have been more acceptable for such a major project, is what Stabroek News seems to want.

Further Stabroek News give the impression it is bent on stirring up chaos and strife in Guyana so it can once again flourish with sensationalism. But sadly this once excellent newspaper is loosing its creditability and is indeed becoming a third rated newspaper. Maybe it is time to change the leadership at Stabroek News.

Here is the link to the more recent Stabroek News editorial: http://www.stabroeknews.com/index.pl/article_editorial?id=56515938

Top Secret Circulating

It has been circulated that the Guyana government has plans to create a large trading hub on the Essequibo coast. Plans are on stream that soon after the completion of the Guyana/Brazil super highway, that the government will be giving large concessions to Brazilians and Guyanese Business entrepreneurs to establish a large trading block on the Essequibo Coast. Goods and all kinds of manufactured products will be imported from Brazil and other South American countries and then exported from Guyana to the Caribbean and other countries at large, including the United States.

This major plan to create a trade free zone on the Essequibo coast to facilitate large scale investment into Guyana is a sign that the politicians in Guyana has matured. The opposition though quiet has welcomed this major proposal and is backing the government for its full implementation. This will probably lead to Guyana soon becoming more industrialized and further the development of a higher standard of living for the Guyanese people. This is exactly what the politicians are hoping for.

Sources claimed that some shrewed business folks are already buying up land on the Essequibo coast. Guyana is really for the first time poised for an economic boom. President Jagdeo has been pushing for this since he took the helm of the ruling PPP/C government. With the opposition help in fighting and putting down crimes, the people of Guyana are for the first time uniting to work harder to build a more prosperous country where all Guyanese can benefit.

Cheap Cell Phone Calls?

Cell phone bills can be excessively high. This is a burden to many individuals. And many times not much seems can be done to remedy this high cost of cell phone usages. Well To remedy this here is a suggestion.

This might be more useful for individuals that are not excessive cell phone talkers. It is also useful to buy your cards online. It facilitates local and International calls anywhere in the world. $50 dollars might last for months on end. It averages about 12 cents a minute, the same as what Sprint charges for a fix plan that offers so much minutes. The advantage with sprint is that you might get night and weekends free. However if you only make a call now and then and wants to call overseas, etc. This might be a good deal. I have had a free phone (because of rebate) for nearly two years now but I only use it once in a while.

So what might be reasonable plan is that you can purchase a very cheap plan from sprint or else where so you can get the nights and weekends free and then for those kids and others who hardly use cell phone you can buy a an STI phone from the site below . I repeat this is good for the not so frequent cell phone users.

Jagdeo Blast US Reports

Guyana's President Jagdeo, sharply criticized the US Drug Enforcement Agency Reports on Guyana's inability to deal with money laundering and drug trafficking, by saying "if the rich and powerful United States, with all the high tech resources at its disposal can't even protect its own border, how does it expect a poor country like Guyana to police its border." President Jagdeo further went on to say that Guyana lack the resources to clamp down on narco traffickers en route to the US. It is alluded that the US is where the real money laundering takes place along with so called big time drug dealers.
Sources claimed that Guyana's border is porous, with a large number of Brazilians doing illegal gold and diamond mining inside of Guyana. Many of these illegal operations are negatively affecting the health of the indigenous Amerindian people living in the hinterland area. But more importantly the folks living in these interior areas are also benefiting economically. Goods and much needed items are imported from Brazil's north most city Manaus's into Lethem and as far as Georgetown, Guyana's Capital.
With the Takutu bridge earmarked for completion shortly, Guyana is poised for a genuine take off economically. Sources has it that with the pitched roads linking Georgetown and Lethem a massive influx Brazilian businesses will be established in Georgetown. All this is good for the Guyanese public. And all this as well has nothing to do with money laundering. These are all genuine welcomed investments.
Criticizing the US government however might not be a wise thing, as Guyana needs the support of the US government aids and help to combat crimes and other problems that the Guyana government can't handle. So while Guyana is poised for significant progress and development, it need to handle the US with more tact. The United States is a friend of Guyana.

LOST ART OF ROMANCE

Years ago romance was the thing of the day for lovers. And there was no better way to express those love sensations than by love letters. To win over someone you were in love with, one had to profess, in all kinds of poetic phrase and sentences, his or her aching desires for each other. Most likely the scenario was a man who chased after a woman who played hard to get. So to win her over he had come better and stronger than the other Shakespearean guy, his competitor, who was also trying to woo his fair love. So poems, love letters with some pretty clever lines were conjured up that had the poor damsel falling completely and totally in love with him. Here are a few of those phrases, which are in no particular order. Please feel free to use any of them or if you have any other kindly share them through comments or email me.

You are the air I breathe
You are like water in a desert to a dying man
I will love you for all eternity
You are like a fresh rose
I adore you
Baby I am crazy about you
Promise you the stars
Swim the Atlantic Ocean
Die if I don’t have you, see you
You are the sweetest woman on earth, combined with sugar, honey and chocolate
Electricity through me
There is no other but you
Cannot live without you
Can’t bear to be apart from you
Think of you night and day
Can’t eat when I don’t see you
All I want is you
I am dying for you….

International Women's Day

Already I have had my head chewed on for my blog (see below) on "excessive female influences."

But since today is International Women's day, I would like to extend warm wishes to all the wonderful women out there on this day, and recognizing the importance of their contribution in shaping our world to be a more humane and better place for all. I have always maintained that a woman is all a man needs in his life for fullfillment. A woman completes a man. Basically she means everything to him.

A woman's role never ends, from mother, sister, friend, lover, partner, wife, homemaker, inspiration, provider, counseller, strenght, and list continues. A woman richly deserves our loyalty and respect. Perhaps on a few occassions they might need our protection, but all in all most if not all women can handle themselves well.

So women keep up your endless job of being everything to us men. We need you.

First Bank Closes International Dept

First Bank branch in the British Virgin Islands has sent out written notification informing clients that a decision was made earlier in the year to close its International Department. This decision was made to "concentrate on developing its domestic business in the BVI". Most clients are disappointed with this move.
First Bank is recognized for providing one of the highest quality service here in the BVI. A few of First Bank customers are wondering how this would affect their credit cards and other business and payments expected to be received from overseas for services already provided.
Customers affected, have until April 10, to close out their accounts that were handled by the bank's International Department. This is pressurising as many transactions from overseas based clients will be affected and new information for new banking accounts will have to be provided as quickly as possible to avoid frustration. Computer programs running old bank account details will have to be amended as quickly as possible too.
This was a complete shock to many of the bank's clients. The clients however has Banco Popular another US bank to tun to for their banking needs. Banco Popular recently constructed a large building across from the government complex. And their services are excellent. This bank is growing at a rapid rate.

WHEN TO CALL IT QUITS

This is a dilemma that many of us face in life and don't know when to call it a day. We have probably reached the zenith in our lives with regards to our dreams, yet we are caught up in a vicious cycle that takes a toll on our bodies. There is one individual in Canada who is qualified with FCCA, ACA, CA, MBA and probably a few more. And yet this person if given an opportunity will resume studying despite the fact that this individual is in the late thirty's and has a ton of money.
Education is not the only perplexing issue we are faced with and don't know when to call it quits. There is the issue of sex. When should a grown individual stop prancing about and settle down to a decent family live with one life's partner? Adultery, fornication and other promiscous behavior by some old, not young folks leaves much to be desired. Porn from the internet and magazines feeds this monster that should have long been laid to rest. Old young folks just don't seem to know when to draw a line and be sober.
Addiction its seems is unquenchable! Whether it is alcohol, drugs, smoking, eating and other bad habits, there seems to be no end in sight as to when to call it quits. The right time is ALWAYS NOW to call it quits for these vices. It takes more than courage and heart to overcome these destructive habits. But you can do it!
Then there is the issue of material possession. One house and one car nowadays seems like an inadequate attainment, and so folks keep laboring to add to that one house and one car, at the expense of their health and family. So when do you call it quits? NEVER. This is what we have been ingrained with. Keep the cycle of greed and the motor running it on all the time. Just accumulate, accumulate and keep on accumulating.
Honestly speaking now when do we call it quits? When our health is at stakes? YES! When our families are at stakes? YES! When you have had enough, go ahead and only then, might be a good time to call it quits.

NEW YORK

Brooklyn Bridge on the right

Not many folks whether they are living in the United States or else where in the world have been able to see the greatest city on earth, the "Big Apple", the concrete jungle of the world. Trying to describe NY City would be a disservice to this really wonderful, densely crowded and energised place on earth.

The first thing that strikes you as you disembark from your jet and enters JFK terminal is the energy and life flow of the city that pours into you. Sleep and tiredness evaporates and you are ready for the bright lights, the shopping and the million and one things that NYC has to offer.

NYC comprises of five boroughs ( Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx and Staten Island) and each is unique in its own way. Millions of tourist, and folks from every corner of the earth can be found at any given time in any of these boroughs. Manhattan is the heart of NYC, yet Brooklyn and Queens can lay claim to this charge. Personally the writer loves Brooklyn!

Share your experiences of NYC with us through comments or otherwise.

TOO MUCH FEMALE INFLUENCE

Left my son Shane playing Soccer. His brother Sean is a soccer forward for Johnson City High School in New York.

This might spark some heated thoughts among the females with feminist inclinations. Nevertheless this is something we will all have to face head on whether we like it or not. Bitching is not something we ever want to face, but inevitably we will face it. So here goes what have been bothering a lot of fathers.

Our kids are being molded by TOO MUCH female influences from the home to the school! And as men or fathers we have to play a more active role to counteract the negative effects of excessive female influences. Thus we need to take our sons onto the playfield, the park, the soccer match, the rugby game, camping, cycling, wrestling, etc.

Shockingly the only communication views our sons might have is what they might have garnered from their mothers and probably from some other female teachers or grandmothers. This excessive female influences in our sons lives are unacceptable. So we as fathers need to communicate with our sons regularly. Let us discuss, argue and debate sports, politics movies, etc with our kids. Let us listen to their views.

Anyway add your comments below whether you agree or not.

Safer For Whom

“…Safer for whom?”
This is he conclusion of a lengthy confusing editorial by Stabroek News trying to show the government of Guyana as favoring one set of investors over another. As usual Stabroek news like the opposition never seems to get it right. They bring up all kinds of shallow statements alluded to the president and then at the same time has the temerity to ask if investment is more important than talks with the opposition. Don’t second-guess this.

If Stabroek news has a problem with President Jagdeo, they should not settle it at the expense of the nation by creating confusion and ill feelings among investors and potential investors. Guyana should be prioritized by all including the press so that the country as a whole can continue to experience growth and development irregardless from where it comes from.

Inaccurate Accusations - Be The Judge

Significant construction is taking place all across Guyana. Casinos, hotels, discos, shopping malls, super shopping centres, etc are just few of the type of construction being done in Guyana. It seems Guyana is poised on being an integral part also with the South American block of countries of which the US arch enemy, Venezuela is a part. Which means the US will be watching Guyana closely and more than likely will be coming up with all kinds of silly reason for Guyana prosperity.
Watch and see it would not be long before Guyana is being accused of drug trafficking, money laundering, corruption and so on. This type of behavior by the superpower will certainly to some extent prevent further investment in Guyana and keep the country in turmoil and a state of underdevelopment. There will be no capital flight from the US to Guyana but it rather there will continue to be capital flight the other way round as usual, that is, capital flight from Guyana to the US. One can add to this skilled and professional workers, our most fundamental resources as well. They will fuel the brain drain.
Our construction boom is being alluded to money laundering. Why can't it be alluded to investors or capital flight from the US to Guyana? Think for a moment. Guyana is being branded as high risk palce to invest! Why? I think you know the answer. I say no further.
To all you investors where ever you are, Guyana is one of the richest, resource full country, plaugued by inaccurate labellings and downright lies and is ready for your investments. So come and down, get a piece of the pie early. There is gold, diamond, timber, bauxite and endless other minerals. Claims are currently being made that off Guyana coasts there might be one of the largest oil reserve in the world. CGX will soon be drilling there. The Chinese are investing in a large modern smeltering plant in Guyana. Hydro power is also on stream for development. The government and people of Guyana welcomes you.
To all you other Guyanese please note that criminal activities will soon be brought under control, so you too should come on down and invest in your homeland. There are vast quantities of land ready for exploration and development.
To the accusers: No more lies!
